CDN & Edge Security Engineer

Position Overview:

• We are seeking a skilled CDN & Edge Security Engineer to design, implement, and support global content delivery and edge security solutions for large-scale digital platforms. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert in CDN technologies, web application security, DNS architecture, DDoS protection, bot mitigation, and application performance optimization.
• The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong troubleshooting abilities and can lead complex incident response efforts, drive security improvements, and provide strategic guidance on edge architecture across cloud and multi-CDN environments.

Key Responsibilities:

CDN & Edge Infrastructure

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale CDN and edge delivery solutions.
• Optimize content delivery performance, availability, and reliability across global environments.
• Manage and support multi-CDN architectures and traffic routing strategies.
• Configure and maintain DNS, caching, load balancing, and edge security services.
• Evaluate and recommend enhancements to improve platform scalability and performance.

Security Operations & Architecture

• Develop, implement, and optimize Web Application Firewall (WAF) policies and security controls.
• Lead bot management initiatives including detection, mitigation, and tuning strategies.
• Design and support DDoS protection architectures and response procedures.
• Conduct threat analysis and security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and reduce risk.
• Analyze and reduce false positives while maintaining effective security posture.

Incident Response & Operational Support

• Serve as a Level 3 escalation point for complex production incidents involving CDN, DNS, networking, and application security services.
• Lead technical investigations for performance, availability, and security-related issues.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, cloud providers, and technology vendors during critical incidents.
• Develop root cause analyses and implement long-term corrective actions.

Monitoring & Observability

• Utilize telemetry, logging, and monitoring platforms to improve visibility into platform performance and security events.
• Analyze operational and security metrics to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
• Build dashboards and reporting capabilities to support proactive monitoring and incident response.
• Leverage observability data to drive architectural and operational decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting enterprise CDN, networking, or application security environments.
• Strong experience with leading CDN platforms such as Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, or similar technologies.
• Deep understanding of:
• DNS architecture and management
• protocols
• TCP/IP networking
• Layer 3, 4, and 7 security concepts
• Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
• DDoS mitigation techniques
• Experience supporting large-scale production environments and critical customer-facing applications.
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex performance, routing, and security incidents.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating multi-CDN environments.
• Experience with bot management platforms and anti-automation technologies.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust and edge security architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, etc.).
• Knowledge of API security controls and modern web application architectures.
• Experience within large enterprise or global e-commerce environments.
