Scientific Affairs Specialist I

ICON seeks a Scientific Affairs Specialist I to support global central laboratory clinical and commercial activities in Mexico City. The role involves maintaining assay information systems, providing scientific liaison services across laboratory operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance and client alignment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and configure assay information in ICOLIMS and STARLIMS systems
- Update specimen requirements, stability, and transport data in departmental databases
- Serve as scientific liaison for sponsors, investigators, and internal commercial teams
- Support cross-functional collaboration on study design, assay implementation, and client requests
- Provide scientific input on assay selection, troubleshoot technical issues, and identify process improvements
Requirements
- 2+ years scientific affairs, central laboratory, or diagnostics experience in CRO, biotech, or pharma
- Knowledge of clinical trial laboratory operations and assay methodologies
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory concepts and terminology
- Experience with STARLIMS system
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication for scientific and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
