We are looking for a motivated Junior Buyer to join our Purchasing team in Puebla, Mexico . This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career purchasing professional to develop expertise in procurement, supplier management, and cost optimization within a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment.

Working closely with Purchasing, Operations, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams, the Junior Buyer will support sourcing activities, supplier performance management, and day-to-day purchasing operations for assigned commodities while contributing to the achievement of business objectives.

Your Mission

As a Junior Buyer, you will support purchasing activities for assigned commodities and suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and supplier performance while developing your procurement expertise within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Supplier Management

• Manage assigned suppliers and commodities to ensure continuity of supply and service.
• Support sourcing activities for serial production requirements and approved purchasing projects.
• Analyze supplier quotations and support commercial negotiations within established purchasing guidelines.
• Maintain productive relationships with suppliers and act as a point of contact for routine purchasing matters.
• Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.

Operational Purchasing Support

• Process and maintain purchasing information, supplier records, contracts, and sourcing documentation.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of purchasing data in SAP and other purchasing systems.
• Support resolution of supply, delivery, pricing, and invoice discrepancies.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support daily operational requirements.
• Assist with implementation of engineering changes and supplier-related actions.

Cost Management & Continuous Improvement

• Support cost reduction initiatives, productivity projects, and purchasing savings activities.
• Conduct basic market and spend analyses to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in tracking supplier performance metrics and purchasing KPIs.
• Support supply base optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Operations, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams to support business needs.
• Participate in supplier meetings and follow up on action items.
• Support problem-solving activities and corrective actions involving suppliers.
• Contribute to purchasing process improvements and best-practice initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience

• 2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, or supplier management experience.
• Experience within automotive, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
• Exposure to supplier management, purchasing processes, or sourcing activities.
• Experience working in cross-functional business environments preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of purchasing and procurement fundamentals.
• Basic negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes is a plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
