Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, Customs, International Relations, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years in a similar role within the automotive industry, advanced manufacturing, or companies operating under IMMEX.
• Proven experience in international logistics operations, customs compliance, and management of global suppliers.

Essential Technical Knowledge

• Advanced English
• IMMEX Program, Customs Law, General Rules of Foreign Trade.
• IVA/IEPS certifications, Annex 24 and 31, descargos, customs entries, and non‑tariff regulations.
• INCOTERMS and their operational application in contracts, quotations, and shipments.
• Export and import processes (ordinary, temporary, definitive, returns, transfers).
• Rules of origin calculations, material integration, and specific rules of origin
• Management of freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, airlines, and ground carriers.
• Strong knowledge of international logistics: ocean, air, land, and multimodal operations.
• Proficiency in customs clearance processes, tariff classification, valuation criteria, and supporting documentation.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP system.
• Knowledge of logistics risk management, cargo insurance, and transportation KPIs.
• Certifications in foreign trade or logistics (OEA, CTPAT, APICS, etc.) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customs compliance in all import and export operations, guaranteeing proper application of regulations, programs, and certifications.
• Manage and coordinate international shipments (air, ocean, and land), ensuring on‑time delivery, cost optimization, and full documentation accuracy.
• Follow up on internal and external foreign trade audits, as well as requirements from authorities (SAT, Ministry of Economy).
• Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers, evaluating performance, timing, costs, and compliance.
• Validate customs entries, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, manifests, and supporting documents to ensure consistency and traceability.
• Perform rules of origin calculations and material integration for automotive customers, ensuring compliance with USMCA and other trade agreements.
• Monitor logistics and customs KPIs, proposing continuous improvement actions to reduce time, cost, and operational risk.
• Manage logistics incidents (delays, holds, shortages, damages, documentation discrepancies) and coordinate resolutions with internal teams and suppliers.
• Provide accurate and timely information to business units to support strategic decision‑making.
• Participate in cost‑optimization projects, process automation, and the standardization of SKF’s global best practices.
