Senior Financial Analyst

Under the supervision of the Plant Controller/Finance Manager, the Finance Manager is responsible for analyzing the main financial variances (inventory, cycle counts, budget/plan vs actuals, monthly forecast vs budget vs actuals), serving as official backup for the Controller/Finance Manager, and overseeing the social security and payroll process at the BU level for the Mexican legal entity.

Responsibilities

• Act as Acting Controller/Finance Manager and provide general supervision of the Finance Department when the Controller/Finance Manager is out.
• Prepare annual budget with Plant staff.
• Prepare monthly forecast with Plant staff.
• Conduct weekly forecast vs actuals analysis and presentation.
• Update forecast vs actuals daily in key expense accounts.
• Analyze monthly and quarterly expense variances (budget vs actual, PE vs actual, and YOY comparisons).
• Review and validate cost reductions in progress and proposed.
• Review and validate CAPEX exhibits and up-to-date expense.
• Close month‑end, record accruals, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Support Controller/Finance Manager in developing and maintaining internal controls in Finance, IT, and Customs teams; conduct internal control samples with HR and Materials.
• Lead department record retention.
• Set up vendors in Oracle (where applicable).
• Act as vendor contract administrator (manage templates, review with Legal, and ensure vendor and legal representative reviews are completed).
• Prepare and submit Tower Watson annual accruals for USGAAP and MEXGAAP.
• Support local Human Resources with reports and analysis for the annual General Wage Increase to Divisional HR.
• Participate in treasury process (2‑approver process for vendor payments, payroll, taxes, and positive pay for checks).
• Report monthly dashboards/KPIs.
• Supervise payroll and special employee payouts review and calculation.
• Review checks for annual calculations on Christmas bonus, Profit Sharing, and savings fund.
• Review monthly accruals for Profit Sharing, Christmas Bonus, and employee vacations.
• Review accident risk premium before Social Security (IMSS).
• Prepare manpower reports for division (Act Hours, Direct Labor, and Avg Hourly).
• Other:
  • Petty cash monthly audit (where it applies).
  • Support internal and external audits (Social Security-IMSS, Government housing loans -INFONAVIT, KPMG, PwC, Government directed, and Internal Control).
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and external normativity in EH&S, labor, trade compliance, taxes and legal.

Authority

• Comply with authority’s requirements in payroll, taxes, and trade compliance.
• Petty cash monthly audit.
• Approve bank payments and manual checks.
• Put together budget and forecast.
• Create and update vendors in Oracle (where applicable).
• Review and approve payroll.

Basic Requirements

• Public Accountant and/or Bachelor in Business Administration or similar experience, 3‑5 years.
• Experience in budgeting/forecasting and variance analysis.
• Three years or more of experience in payroll (compliance and supervision).
• Strong knowledge in labor and tax law.
• Proficient with MRP/ERP systems (JDEdwards, Oracle, SAP).
• Fluent in English (B1‑C1 or higher).
• Strong use and application of Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and payroll systems (TRESS and ADP preferred).

Desirable Requirements

• Analytical, focused, reads and understands financial statements; well versed in budgeting and forecasting, as well as cost accounting.
• Good internal and external customer service.
