Industrial Engineer III

Industrial Engineer III role within Chamberlain Group's Nogales Engineering group. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing, defining, and updating all material‑flow processes in line with company procedures, policies, and standards. The position also requires leading lean material‑flow tool implementations, overseeing visual aids and Kanban systems, and ensuring on‑time delivery of parts to production lines in the correct containers and quantities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, define, and update all material‑flow processes, following company procedures and standards.
• Implement lean material‑flow tools such as Kanban, part presentation, PFEP, and work balance.
• Oversee and maintain visual aids, Kanban implementation, and production‑line calculations related to material flow.
• Ensure optimal delivery methods to production lines, guaranteeing correct containers and quantities.
• Lead and enforce safety rules, and participate in EHS and ergonomics initiatives.
• Monthly analyze, calculate, and define line capacity in terms of headcount, material handlers, delivery routes, Kanban, and equipment needed to meet demand.
• Provide proposals to optimize resources and mentor projects related to capacity planning.
• Maintain and update documents such as PFEP, line layout, ASTs, ergonomic studies, standard work, RBTs, and Kanban signals.
• Periodically revise master‑data records on platforms (SAP, JIRA, Velocity, Scorecard, etc.) for legacy and new launches.
• Make recommendations for EHS, OPEX, and NPI initiatives, and attend Production MDI meetings as a model leader.
• Lead and coach complex productivity projects across the plant or company, escalating risks to the Productivity Committee.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse performance for internal or external material logistics and the required resources.
• Maintain visual factory standards—colors, materials, structures, workstations, and signs—to ensure a homogeneous environment.
• Support technicians and maintain confidentiality of Chamberlain Group information.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Flow, or Logistics.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Systems, Logistics, or related).
• Experience managing complex tasks or projects related to line balancing, material flow, parts presentation, standard work, time‑and‑motion analysis, PFEP, capacity analysis, manufacturing line layout, and manning calculations.
• Proven ability to execute multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
• Leadership skills to guide or serve as a resource across the plant.

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Systems, Logistics, or related).

Experience

• 5+ years in Industrial Engineering, Materials Flow Engineering, Lean Engineering, or Logistics Engineering related to materials handling.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Leadership and coaching ability.
• Analysis of times and motions.
• Knowledge of lean material-flow tools (Kanban, Part presentation, PFEP, Work Balance).
• Understanding of Just In Sequence (JIS) / Just In Time (JIT) concepts, inventory strategies, and storage strategies.
• Experience with A3 or 8Ds analysis.
• Autocad proficiency.
• Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
• Analytical mindset.
• Intermediate to advanced SAP WM & CRP (Level3).
• Sense of urgency, proactive attitude, and self‑management.
• Positive disposition and team‑work capability.
