SAP Senior Developer

KION SCS is looking for a SAP Senior Developer responsible for managing the Technical developments of the SAP Systems in our NA region. As the Technical Consultant / Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on the Business Transformation project for KION SCS and build / customize the SAP S/4HANA applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement part or all of the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design.
• Analyze business/functional requirements and prepare development project schedule, tasks, and estimates.
• Perform technical design and document technical specifications.
• Ensure compliance of the developed solution with the underlying solution architecture.
• Develop ABAP functionality, reports, enhancements, interfaces, and related objects.
• Develop HANA objects such as OData services, CDS views, CI functions, and SQL scripts.
• Support application development efforts, unit testing, create technical specifications, conduct code reviews, and manage transports across SAP systems.
• Develop test plans and automated scripts to assure expected performance and quality standards are met.
• Analyze root cause of production and development issues and provide solutions.
• Develop inbound and outbound interfaces to/from the cloud for on‑premise and cloud instances of SAP products.
• Provide planning and design support for solution architectures implemented in multiple system environments.
• Define and implement interfaces to upstream and downstream systems.
• Understand and utilize various integration adapters in SAP CPI (SFSF, OData, SFTP, IDOC, SOAP, REST) to exchange messages between sender and receiver.
• Monitor and present periodic status to stakeholders.
• Monitor risks and issues, and prepare appropriate mitigation plans.
• Ensure best practices are followed and required processes and specifications are documented.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 6+ years of SAP experience as an SAP ABAP consultant and 2+ years of SAP S/4HANA experience.
• At least 2 SAP end‑to‑end implementation experiences and at least one S/4HANA implementation/conversion experience.
• Proficient with Traditional ABAP WRICEF and working with SAP Web IDE, Eclipse IDE, and ADT.
• Integrate SAP S/4HANA with SAP middleware using IDocs, remote function modules, web services or ABAP proxies.
• Experience working with Native SQL, CDS, AMDP, ALV on HANA, Adobe Forms, RF screen programming, CDS views, CE functions, and SQL scripts.
• Experience with SQL Trace, SAP Runtime analysis, debugging ABAP query info sets.
• Knowledge of ABAP object‑oriented programming and handling of data conversions (JSON to XML, CSV to XML, etc.).
• Desirable: Experience with EDI integrations and API management.
• Ability to discuss requirements with customers, challenge and clarify when appropriate.
• Ability to develop high‑level designs or plans, and estimate effort required to deliver.
• Ability to advise engagement owners about risks associated with the work package.
• Ability to conduct and lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium‑sized engagements.
• Ability to apply technology and consulting to solve a client business problem.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strategic thinking and thought‑leadership capabilities.
• Knowledge of implementation project life cycles (blueprinting, configuration, testing, cut‑over, go‑live support).
• Proficient using project‑management tools (JIRA) and preparing and presenting status reports.
• Fluence in English.
• Experience with global, large‑scale ERP implementations.
• Business and process knowledge with cross‑functional knowledge in business domains.
• Excellent time‑management and schedule skills; ability to meet deadlines.
• Results‑oriented and demonstrated experience leading work sessions with multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% in the US and EMEA.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. 6+ years of relevant work experience required.
