Lead Manufacturing Engineer

As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer on our team you will lead and manage the industrialization of our products from award phase up to series production. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting kick‑off meetings and MSD workshops with the PML.
• Creating and adapting process flows.
• Driving DFM and DFA to ensure a producible design.
• Enforcing proper requirements management and aligning with Aptiv DQE, including planning requirements transfer to PML.
• Aligning industrialization deliverables with DQE and acting as the customer interface for technical discussions.
• Developing the production line concept with optimized material flow, estimated cycle times, and a traceability concept.
• Ensuring supplier packaging requirements adhere to manufacturing and production requirements.
• Attending regular PDT meetings and driving escalation in case of problems.
• Creating and maintaining the MFGE project schedule with regard to project milestones.
• Preparing and organizing milestone build dates with the PML, including early prototype builds and required prototype equipment.
• Attending key prototype build events for new product layouts/designs and all customer‑attended events.
• Driving and tracking P‑FMEA while respecting functional safety aspects and related documentation.
• Planning required equipment and technology, managing SOW and procurement.
• Tracking tooling and ensuring availability of needed material for all equipment/tool development, and conducting equipment design reviews before approving start of fabrication/development.
• Performing equipment buy‑off at suppliers and requesting that PML process engineers attend and approve as needed.
• Driving capability studies and creating a list of key parameters to be transferred to the quality plan.
• Planning product and process/equipment training and handover to PML after PV readiness.
• Participating in escalation meetings on program management level with prepared reports and resolution options.

Your Background

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in manufacturing engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree or similar with technical education.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong problem‑solving capability.
• Ability to work in a global network environment.
• Strong knowledge of lean concepts.
• Energetic, self‑motivated, proactive work style.
• Fluent Business English.
• High level of interpersonal skills.
• Highly effective organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to identify work projects and improvement opportunities with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in existing and future manufacturing processes.
