Supply Chain Buyer/Planner I (San Juan del Río)

Responsibilities

The Planner Buyer is responsible for the creation, follow‑up, and maintenance of purchase orders for direct materials, ensuring the timely and sufficient availability of raw materials to support uninterrupted plant operations. This role requires a strong understanding of the production plan to effectively secure materials, maintain optimal inventory levels, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

You will work in close collaboration with Production, Planning, Suppliers, and the Materials team, aligning sales requirements, production schedules, and supplier deliveries to ensure operational continuity, quality compliance, and cost optimization.

• Analyze and interpret sales requirements and production schedules to ensure timely material availability.
• Coordinate with the Production Planner to ensure the optimal utilization of materials.
• Monitor supplier deliveries to ensure compliance with delivery time, quantity, and quality requirements.
• Evaluate supplier performance, collecting and validating required documentation such as quality certificates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred). Experience in material planning and delivery scheduling, as well as in bidding processes and sourcing of alternative materials, packaging, and components, is required.

• Proficiency in SAP for purchase order creation, reporting, and demand review.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation skills, including delivery times, lot sizes, material consignment, and total cost.
• English proficiency: ability to read and understand written communications, discuss technical topics, and maintain professional conversations.
• Availability to work rotating shifts and travel as required.
