Program Manager, Amazon Devices Beta (Zapopan)

The Amazon Devices Beta (ADB) Team is your hall pass to play at work!! We are responsible for the “real world validation” of Kindle eReaders, Fire Tablets, FireTV products, and emerging products such as Amazon Smart Oven and Amazon Basics Microwave. We work with product and engineering teams to prepare new product launches, system software and app updates, and marketplace expansions, gathering feedback and exposing issues and bugs prior to the product launch so we delight customers with products beyond their expectations.

Key job responsibilities

• Build and execute programs to validate the customer experience during the product development cycle.
• Work with end users and a wide variety of internal teams to develop strategy and execute the program to confirm from a customer perspective we are ready to launch.
• Be a “hands on” contributor to support and troubleshoot issues, resolve problems, and keep the feedback flowing.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and put processes and tools in place to help us scale.
• Track, communicate status, and independently drive issues to resolution.
• Ensure cross‑team coordination, program management, and an ability to learn and understand new technologies.

A day in the life

Our programs are general and composed of Amazon employees across the company. We put pre‑released devices and/or software in the hands of beta testers who represent our target customer profile (“people all about smart home automation”, “people who love to read”, or “people who are native speakers of French”). Working with our product team counterparts, we ask testers for “no holds barred” feedback to tell us what works and what needs to be fixed. Our bar is always being raised and we strive to achieve an Amazon 4‑Star or better product every time!

About the team

The Amazon Devices Beta Team is responsible for pre‑launch customer feedback for our products. The team is composed of program managers who love technology and devices. Together with product owners, we plan and execute beta programs focused on gathering early customer feedback to help Amazon ship devices and software that delight customers. Our objective is to leverage the voice of the customer to validate and improve the experience and make an informed decision regarding launch readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of program or project management experience
• Experience working cross functionally with tech and non‑tech teams
• Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
• Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

Location

• 5+ years of program or project management experience
• Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
• Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
• Familiarity using and troubleshooting devices and gadgets
• Proven ability to communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders at all levels of responsibility. Be able to handle sensitive information and keep it confidential.
• Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done.
