The Opportunity

We are looking for a Director of Risk Operations & AI to lead the execution layer of our risk organization and help build a world-class, technology-driven origination platform. This role sits at the intersection of Risk, Operations, Product, and Technology. You will own the end-to-end loan origination process, ensure flawless execution of risk policies, and drive the adoption of AI-powered workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability. This is a unique opportunity to combine deep auto finance expertise with cutting-edge AI applications, helping define how risk operations are built for the future.

What You'll Do

Own Risk Policy Execution

• Ensure consistent implementation of credit policies across channels, systems, and operational teams.
• Manage policy governance, deployment, testing, and ongoing optimization.Translate risk strategies into scalable operational processes .

Lead the End-to-End Origination Journey

• Own and optimize the complete customer journey from application through underwriting and funding.
• Design efficient workflows across Sales, Dealers, Underwriting, Operations, and Control functions.
• Continuously improve approval speed, conversion, and operational quali ty.

Drive AI-Powered Transformation

• Partner with Technology and AI teams to automate critical risk workflows.
• Implement AI solutions across document verification, workflow automation, decision support, and operational controls.
• Build and scale a "human + AI" operating model that increases automation while maintaining strong risk discipline.

Build Scalable Operational Infrastructure

• Establish governance frameworks, SOPs, quality controls, and performance metrics.
• Drive process standardization and operational excellence across the organization.
• Ensure systems, workflows, and business processes operate seamlessly together.

Partner Across the Business

• Collaborate closely with Risk Strategy, Credit, Product, Technology, Sales, Asset Management, and Collections.
• Support the launch of new financial products, channels, and strategic partnerships.
• Help shape the future operating model of MStar's lending platform.

• Risk policies are executed consistently and accurately across all channels.
• Approval times decrease while maintaining strong credit performance.
• Automation rates increase and manual processing costs decline.
• Origination processes scale efficiently as the business grows.
• AI becomes a meaningful driver of productivity, quality, and customer experience.

What We're Looking For

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in auto finance, consumer lending, or credit operations.
• Proven experience managing risk operations, underwriting processes, or policy execution at scale.
• Deep understanding of the lending lifecycle, from application through funding and servicing.
• Experience implementing automation, workflow technologies, or AI-driven operational improvements.

Preferred

• Auto finance experience in the United States strongly preferred.
• Experience in Latin America or emerging markets.
• Experience in high-growth, technology-driven environments.
