The position is based in Queretaro, Mexico. The position is part of an engineering organization that provides capital project support along with some day to day troubleshooting. The position requires a candidate that has the ability to work in a team environment with engineering professionals representing mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines.**What you’ll be doing:*** Evaluate and improve existing production processes by identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste, and implementing solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs.* Design and develop new processes, equipment layouts, and workflows to support new product launches or capacity expansions.* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, downtime, scrap rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and take corrective actions as needed.* Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP), maintaining proper documentation and process controls.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to resolve process issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.* Lead or participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools.* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process specifications, and training materials for operators and technicians.* Support validation and qualification of equipment and processes, including trials, testing, and implementation of new technologies.* Ensure safe working conditions by incorporating safety standards into process design and improvements.* Coordinates projects with other departments as required.* Designs electrical systems for complex processes and equipment, and supports installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment.* Makes branch plant trips or vendor visits as required to accomplish project objectives.* Makes cost and schedule estimates on new or reworked equipment for project proposals. Develops the project plan for the control aspects of a project. Is the project leader for the electrical aspect of projects related to project management (budget and schedule control, status reporting, customer interface, performance to design objectives, etc).* Maintains a high skill level through independent reading, and technical courses.* Creates documentation packages for installation contractor bidding/execution of control system projects.
