Position Overview  

Toll International is seeking a highly experienced Senior CAD & REVIT Designer to provide on-site design support services for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey’s Electrical Engineering Design Group. This role will support the planning, design, construction, and evaluation of critical infrastructure assets across a diverse portfolio of transportation and facility projects.  

The selected professional will be responsible for developing and modifying high-quality CAD and REVIT drawings for complex Electrical and Electronics Engineering projects, including substations, rail systems, roadway lighting, ductbank systems, and airfield lighting infrastructure. This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to independently execute design layouts with minimal oversight, and the capability to support aggressive project schedules while maintaining strict quality and compliance standards.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Prepare, revise, and maintain detailed CAD and REVIT drawings for Electrical and Electronics Engineering projects.  
• Develop general arrangement drawings, electrical plans, utility drawings, and equipment layouts.  
• Produce electrical schedules, one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and detail drawings.  
• Design runway and taxiway airfield lighting layouts in accordance with applicable FAA standards and guidelines.  
• Interpret engineering markups, design comments, and technical specifications to accurately incorporate revisions into project drawings.  
• Support infrastructure projects involving substations, rail systems, roadway lighting, ductbanks, and manhole systems.  
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely project delivery.  
• Assist with site surveys and documentation of existing field conditions when required.  
• Ensure all deliverables comply with Port Authority CAD and BIM standards and project-specific requirements.  
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior CAD and REVIT staff.  
• Support fast-paced project schedules while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality control.  
• Handle sensitive and confidential project documentation in accordance with organizational requirements.  

Required Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Applied Science, Computer-Aided Design, or a related field.  
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience producing high-quality CAD and REVIT drawings for Electrical and Electronics Engineering projects.  
• Demonstrated experience supporting:  
• Renovations to existing buildings  
• Construction of new buildings and structures  
• Electrical substations  
• Rail systems  
• Electrical infrastructure projects, including roadway lighting, ductbank systems, manholes, and taxiway/runway airfield lighting  
• Strong working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circular AC 150/5340-30.  
• Proven ability to independently design common airfield ground lighting system layouts and prepare coordinate tables with minimal supervision.  
• Extensive experience developing electrical plans, utility drawings, equipment layouts, elevations, schedules, and wiring diagrams.  
• Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure projects within aggressive schedules and deadlines.  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interpret and implement engineering design comments.  
• Advanced proficiency in CAD and REVIT software for engineering design applications.  
• Ability to work on-site and collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.  

Preferred Qualifications  

• Experience producing CAD and REVIT drawings for Structural Engineering construction contracts.  
• Experience working with Port Authority CAD and BIM Standards.  
• Experience conducting or supporting field/site surveys to document existing conditions.  
• Prior experience training, mentoring, or supervising junior CAD and REVIT staff.  
• Experience working with confidential and/or confidential and privileged documentation.  
• Previous experience supporting aviation, transportation, or large-scale public infrastructure projects.
