Hardware Engineer (Aguascalientes)

Responsibilities

  • Perform design, verification, and validation of analog, digital and power electronics for infotainment, telematics, cluster and display applications.
  • Perform electronics circuit analysis, worst‑case design calculation, electrical simulation and deliver related reports.
  • Perform customer requirement analysis and definition of the electronic part.
  • Attend technical meetings with component suppliers and sourcing to analyze alternatives.
  • Deliver electrical schematics design and BOM, product documentation, PCB layout specifications, verification and electrical tests according to the hardware design guideline.
  • Define the HW/SW interface of microcontroller/microprocessors working in collaboration with SW designer/System Architect.
  • Contribute to FMEA/FTA/Functional safety system/product analysis.
  • Impact analysis and risk evaluation of change requests, modifications and PCN/PTN.
  • Report and document electrical design, specification, implementation, verification and validation according to the hardware design process.
  • Support manufacturing, particularly start of production.
  • Deliver electronic hardware documentation/dossier in engineering database (experience with Siemens TeamCenter/OnePLM desirable).
  • Assure application of electronic lessons‑learned and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Electronic design & engineering of digital/analog circuits, switching power supplies, audio amplifier, LED drivers, input/output interface to microcontrollers.
  • Electronic design & verification tools for schematics entry and electronic simulations.
  • Knowledge of standard CAD for electrical design (schematics, simulations and PCB layout).
  • Experience with Allegro Cadence and/or Cadvance schematic entry and PCB layout.
  • Experience with test, debug, characterization and validation of electronics using standard equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal and pattern generators, logic state analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, wireless communication testers).
  • Knowledge of electronics devices and technology for automotive applications and capability to select components.
  • Electrical interfaces and thermal dissipation worst‑case analysis.
  • Experience in hardware design and validation of electronics boards containing embedded processors, FPGAs and PC peripherals.
  • Experience in designing PCB layout for engineering changes desirable.
  • Knowledge of EMC problems, signal integrity, and guidance rules for PCB layout.
  • Basic knowledge of firmware development for embedded systems (assembler language or C) and real‑time operating systems.
  • Validation and certification procedures (better if automotive) according to ISO **** and ISO/TS **** standards.
  • Basic knowledge of standard and norms of customers for electrical validations.
  • Basic knowledge of the standard of functional safety impacting electronics (ISO ***** methods and measures).
  • Basic knowledge of requirement management and traceability using DOORS tool.
  • Problem‑solving attitude and hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with multinational distributed teams.
  • Time management to commit to delivery tasks.

Education & Former Experience

  • Electronic Engineering Degree (or equivalent).
  • Education oriented to electrical circuit design, test equipment and/or electronic technologies.
  • Experience in electronic design and verification, possibly as a trainee.
  • Education in microcontroller architectures and embedded systems can be a plus.

Language Skills

  • Fluent spoken and written language of the customer.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and language of the customer requirements.

Others

Willing to travel to the customer, supplier and Marelli locations involved (design and production).
