About the role:

This is an opportunity to join to a nearshore production hub in Mexico City as Video Editing Lead — leading the Mexico City editing team and setting the quality standard for all video post-production output suggesting a dedicated in-house studio embedded with a leading healthcare education institution.

Based in Mexico City, you'll lead a team of Motion Designers and Video Editors, overseeing the final assembly, quality, and delivery of video content that spans traditional short-form production and GenAI video generation. The studio produces video from insight to client-ready output in 48 hours. Your editorial leadership makes that possible.

The Video Editing Lead is the creative and technical authority for video post-production within the Mexico City hub. You lead final video assembly and quality for all video projects, mentor the Motion Designer/Video Editor team, and partner with the Senior Producer in Baltimore and Associate Creative Director to ensure every finished piece meets our craft standard and Client’s brand requirements.

What You'll Do

• Lead the editing and post-production of all video and motion content for the Client's portfolio — ensuring every piece is cut, graded, mixed, and delivered to the highest standard
• Manage and develop the Mexico City-based Motion Designer/Video Editor team — providing clear editorial direction, constructive feedback, and day-to-day workload oversight
• Partner with the Senior Producer on production scheduling, post-production timelines, and delivery planning
• Lead the review and refinement of GenAI video output from Pencil — managing multiple rounds of feedback to strengthen scene relevance, voiceover alignment, and visual consistency
• Establish and maintain post-production quality standards for the studio: color grading, audio mixing, motion consistency, title and graphic accuracy, and format delivery specs
• Manage the edit review process: coordinate with the Associate Creative Director and Account team on feedback cycles, ensuring revisions are executed precisely and efficiently
• Maintain organized file management, project archiving, and asset storage across all video projects
• Stay current with video editing technology, GenAI video tools, and motion design trends — bringing new techniques and efficiencies to the team
• Support the onboarding of new Motion Designers and Video Editors: establish training standards, editorial expectations, and quality benchmarks from day one

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in similar roles
• Expert proficiency in video editing software — Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality video editing across digital formats — social video, long-form, motion graphics, and/or brand storytelling
• Experience leading or mentoring a post-production or editing team
• Familiarity with GenAI video generation tools (Runway, Pencil's film generation capability, or equivalent) and comfort with AI-assisted post-production workflows
• Experience with motion graphics and animation as an editing collaborator (After Effects or equivalent) is advantageous
• Strong understanding of digital video delivery specs across platforms — social, broadcast, and web
• Professional proficiency in English; Spanish proficiency is an advantage for the Mexico City hub role

Gen AI & Agentic Thinking

• Expert-level proficiency with GenAI video tools and AI-assisted post-production workflows, including Pencil's film generation capability
• Ability to set quality benchmarks for GenAI video output and lead the team in applying rigorous human oversight to AI-generated visual content
• Experience training others in AI video tools and establishing craft standards that govern AI-assisted production output

Qualifications:

• Formal degrees are welcome but not required.
• Equivalent experience counts.
