About the Role

This position sits within a technology operations function supporting a live, systematically driven trading platform. The role blends production support with engineering-style problem solving, covering everything from monitoring and alerting to CI/CD pipeline development and incident management. As the first point of contact when issues arise, the person in this role will triage, investigate, and resolve production problems while keeping stakeholders informed with clear, concise updates. The role also involves close partnership with platform and application engineering teams to ensure new code moves into production smoothly and reliably. Because the environment operates around the clock, this position includes rotational coverage and regular coordination with international offices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for production issues, support requests, and system alerts
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and outages, escalating when necessary
• Maintain detailed, accurate tickets and provide clear summaries to business users and management
• Monitor system health across the trading platform and supporting infrastructure
• Establish and maintain operational procedures, playbooks, and run books
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable code deployment
• Develop and maintain observability tooling, including dashboards at multiple levels of detail
• Define and track KPIs and metrics covering performance, capacity, scalability, reliability, and availability
• Support problem management processes and help establish an ITSM framework
• Collaborate closely with platform engineering, application engineering, and managed service provider teams
• Partner with software development teams to support successful production deployments
• Provide rotational, around-the-clock coverage and liaise with overseas offices as needed

• Experience managing complex deployments and environments
• Experience supporting applications in a Linux environment
• Solid understanding of monitoring and incident management practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of ownership and a track record of delivering results
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Experience with application monitoring systems such as Elastic
• Experience within financial services - Hedge Funds, Alternative Asset Management firms, Fintechs, Private Equity preferred
• Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira ITSM
• ITIL certification or equivalent incident management training
• Understanding of the FIX protocol
• Approximately two years of experience supporting trading and post-trade systems in financial services
