Global EHS Manager

About the Role

An essential requirement is experience as an EHS Manager overseeing multiple locations across the U.S., Mexico, and other regions.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Global EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives across our global manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for establishing world-class EHS standards, driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning corporate EHS systems across multiple facilities and regions.

Based in Mexico, this position will partner directly with Executive Leadership, Global HR, Operations, Engineering, and Plant Management teams to support operational excellence, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive experience in high-risk manufacturing operations, global EHS systems, ISO standards, and automotive industry requirements including IATF 16949.

Key Responsibilities

Global Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the development and deployment of global EHS strategies, policies, procedures, standards, and best practices across all manufacturing locations.
• Standardize global EHS processes, audit systems, tools, KPIs, and reporting methodologies.
• Partner with Global Leadership and VP of Global HR to ensure alignment of corporate EHS objectives and operational execution.
• Drive and sustain a world-class safety culture throughout all global operations.
• Serve as the corporate EHS authority supporting plant leadership teams and operational management.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to Plant EHS Managers and Engineers globally.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on injury prevention, risk reduction, ergonomics, environmental sustainability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience within automotive or heavy manufacturing environments.
• Strong experience managing multi-site or global EHS operations.
• Extensive knowledge of:
• ISO 14001
• ISO 45001
• IATF 16949
• OSHA regulations
• Environmental compliance systems
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence executive leadership and cross-functional teams globally.
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• International travel availability required.

Preferred Certifications

• CSP – Certified Safety Professional
• CIH – Certified Industrial Hygienist
• ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification
