Quality Engineer. Cushions Automotive Tier 1 Experience (Tequisquiapan)

Position: QUALITY ENGINEER- CUSHIONS AIRBAGS EXPERIENCE
Location: Querétaro, Parque O Donnel Aeropuerto el Marqués.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accomplishment of the Quality System in all productive areas, according to customer specific requirements, launch activities and audits.
• Manage Quality Auditors reporting to the position, and follow up required trainings or skills improvement to support corporate objectives.
• Ensure proper follow‑up of all customer quality requirements in assigned projects and the Business Quality Operation System.
• Review, validate, create, and update CP, ODS, SPC, PPAP, GRRs, dimensional reports, capabilities, PFMEA, first part release, and MSA documents as needed.
• Provide customer service and communication to avoid complaints by responding quickly to quality issues.
• Maintain open communication with the Quality Superintendent and Quality Manager regarding escalation topics, customer complaints, project status, and other matters.
• Develop clear and effective Quality Inspection Methods/Routes to prevent risks from unclear criteria or inefficient tools.
• Coordinate and ensure timely 8‑D resolutions for formal and informal 3CPR, MQR, CS1/2, customer complaints, and internal complaints.
• Take responsibility for containment, rework, non‑conformance material disposition, and quality issues inside and outside the plant.
• Follow up project launch stages for all quality‑related items, ensuring the Advance Quality Team delivers and covers all requirements before final release.
• Ensure Quality Auditors are trained in all criteria, inspection methods, and documentation related to assigned projects.
• Follow up product audits, annual revalidation, and IQS usage, and 8‑D scoring format compliance.
• Monitor corrective action closure times derived from customer or third‑party audits.
• Support auditors and inspectors when criteria definitions are unclear or when releasing or stopping lines.
• Track quality costs such as RMAs, containment cost, scrap, complaint‑related cost, customer chargeback, and debit notes.
• Disseminate deviation information and ensure timely closure.
• Follow up non‑conformance material in quarantine through weekly meetings in the Quality Cage.
• Follow up Quick Response board items and other line metrics.
• Handle special requirements such as CQC Audits, CC Audits, customer visits, presentations, safety quality concerns, and meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or a related major.
• English conversational skills proficient.
• Automotive Tier 1 experience in airbags is a must.
• Minimum five years of experience as a Quality Engineer focused on airbags.
• Experience reviewing and updating CP, ODS, SPC, PPAP, GRRs, dimensional reports, capabilities, PFMEA, first part release, and MSA.
• Travel availability and own transportation for the Querétaro site.
• Ability to work independently in a site that can be difficult to access.
• Strong communication skills and ability to avoid customer complaints.

This position is not a managerial role.
