Your Role

As a Senior IT Project Manager at Capgemini , you will independently lead large‑scale, complex IT initiatives (USD 6M+ budgets) within the Insurance domain , delivering full‑lifecycle software development projects with minimal oversight. You are accountable for end‑to‑end project governance, financial performance, and executive‑level reporting, while ensuring adherence to proven project management frameworks and Capgemini delivery standards.

This role requires strong business acumen, deep experience in SDLC projects, and the confidence to operate as a trusted delivery leader for clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities & Scope

• Independently manage large, complex IT projects across the full SDLC (inception through delivery and stabilization), ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
• Own financial management including estimation, budgeting, forecasting, variance tracking, and overall spend control for large-scale initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional programs (IT, Operations, Business), driving alignment, structured planning, and execution through formal PMO/EPMO governance, standards, and tools.
• Deliver executive-level reporting (steering committees, senior leadership updates) using data-driven insights, dashboards, KPIs, and trend analysis.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive project plans and schedules using tools such as Planview, MS Project, JIRA, or Smartsheets.
• Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and scope changes through structured methodologies (risk frameworks, change control processes, mitigation planning).
• Oversee vendor and partner deliverables, ensuring performance, accountability, and alignment with contractual and delivery expectations.
• Act as a senior stakeholder interface, influencing without authority and driving accountability, decision-making, and successful outcomes across teams in dynamic environments.

Your Profile

• 7+ years of professional experience with 5+ years leading end-to-end IT project delivery, including ownership from initiation through stabilization.
• Proven experience managing large-scale programs with budget ownership, financial accountability, and strong project financial controls.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience; active PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or similar certification preferred.
• Strong experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives (IT + Ops + Business), ideally within Insurance or Banking environments and customer-facing project delivery.
• Demonstrated expertise in project planning, scheduling, and execution using industry-standard tools (Planview, JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheets, or similar).
• Advanced risk and issue management capabilities, including identification, prioritization, mitigation strategies, and escalation handling.
• Experience working within structured PMO/EPMO environments, applying governance models, templates, and best practices.
• Leadership mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and the ability to influence stakeholders, manage ambiguity, resolve conflicts, and drive results under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with a track record of delivering clear, concise executive-level reporting and stakeholder engagement.
