Senior General Accountant (Juriquilla) (Santiago de Querétaro)

We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Queretaro office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed audit schedules in compliance with Mexican financial regulations (e.g., SAT).
• Provide auditors with timely, accurate data, supporting documentation, and research as requested.
• Coordinate with internal and external audit teams to ensure smooth audit processes.
• Maintain audit trails and documentation for all accounting processes.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of general ledger (GL) accounts.
• Clear outstanding balances and follow up on reconciling items to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure the integrity of GL data and proper account classification.
• Prepare financial reports.
• Collaborate with departments to prepare annual and quarterly operational budgets.
• Review and monitor budget submissions for assigned GL accounts, highlighting variances.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
• Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports.
• Validate account coding for accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
• Ensure timely processing of accounts payable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
• Prior experience working with Mexican companies and knowledge of local regulations is mandatory.
• Experience with audits and tax compliance in Mexico (SAT regulations, DIOT, CFDI, etc.).
• Advanced English skills.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and Mexican financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).
