Indirect Tax Senior Analyst, Latam (Xico) (Valle de Chalco Solidaridad)

About the Role

Uber is seeking an Indirect Tax analyst to join our Latin America team in Mexico City. This role is focused on LatAm taxes, from compliance, to technical advisory, to processes transformation and automation. In this role, you will actively engage with other team members and support the LatAm tax leadership fostering innovation in the Tax department. You must have a grasp of tax accounting and compliance concepts and an awareness of international issues facing a fast growing multinational. You will be working within the tax team and helping to shape the internal tax processes as well as supporting new products. In your role you will work with highly motivated, exceptionally skilled, multi‑cultural team members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee indirect tax filings for the LatAm region prepared by the tax center of excellence in India
• Work cross‑functionally to implement law changes
• Ensure indirect tax filings are compliant with laws and regulations in multiple countries
• Analyze and review data to prepare filings and identify risks, opportunities, and optimizations
• Support the team with data reconciliation, simplification, and understandability across different data sources to comply with tax authorities’ requests
• Collaborate closely with different indirect tax reporting, accounting, and tax technical teams to provide expert advice on indirect tax reporting matters
• Focus continuously on the development of Uber's business, products, and systems
• Focus continuously on how to use technology to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in indirect regulations and guidelines in the LatAm region

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in indirect tax advisory and compliance in LatAm (VAT, DSTs)
• Law or Accounting degree with tax specialization
• Experience with indirect tax technical principles and regulations in the region
• Strong analytical skills to interpret and analyze tax technical data
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with introducing technology‑based solutions in the field of indirect tax reporting
• Advanced proficiency in English and fluent Spanish
