Primary Purpose of the Position
Responsible for supervising and driving plant process optimization for the functional area assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, correct unsafe acts and conditions, facilitate monthly safety meetings, conduct monthly safety inspections, and investigate accidents as required.
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.
- Ensure round‑the‑clock efficient operations for the assigned process area.
- Manage resources and activities for the functional area or process assigned.
- Supervise process team members.
- Establish maintenance procedures on equipment, including planning, budgeting, execution, and periodic review.
- Plan, administer, and manage the budget for the assigned process area.
- Apply knowledge of the functional area to conduct system and process analysis, identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to management.
- Diagnose problem areas and develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Participate in designing and overseeing new systems and processes that improve and enhance plant performance in safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Collect and organize data to generate and maintain reports and schedules related to the functional area.
- Coordinate and apply maintenance techniques to monitor and reduce maintenance and repair costs.
- Ensure an adequate level of supplies, materials, and parts so operations are not interrupted by shortages.
- Ensure all equipment in the area is properly maintained and upgraded as needed.
- Arrange training for employees on proper maintenance programs and procedures for plant production equipment.
- Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
- Initiate, review, master, and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the area of responsibility.
- Communicate with the emergency coordinator or Environmental Focal Point/Environmental Manager regarding environmental management activities.
- Respond to emergency coordinator directions during emergencies by being familiar with emergency procedures, equipment, and systems as necessary, and implement the contingency plan to the required level.
- Keep environmental documentation up to date as directed by the emergency coordinator, Environmental Focal Point, or Environmental Manager.
- Report to the emergency coordinator, Environmental Focal Point, or Environmental Manager on the status of assigned responsibilities.
- Comply with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives.
- Recognize waste streams and minimize waste generation through prudent use of materials, proper disposal and segregation, and understanding of waste accumulation and storage requirements.
- Comply with environmental regulations when handling hazardous and non‑hazardous materials and wastes.
Qualifications
- Broad training in a related field, usually acquired through college or education or work‑related experience.
- Minimum five years of related job experience.
- Ability to apply evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard plant production, chemical process, and warehouse techniques and procedures.
- Ability to negotiate with contractors for facility and building maintenance.
- Basic arithmetic, geometric, and algebraic calculation skills.
- Capacity to handle sensitive proprietary information confidentially.
- Awareness and compliance with hazardous waste management and other environmental requirements, with attendance at scheduled training sessions.
- Ability to use a computer functionally.
- Follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in Ball Corporation manuals.
- Maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
- Working knowledge of production processes, product specifications and technology of equipment, and generally accepted supervisory practices and procedures.

- Expected hiring salary range: $#### – $#### (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity).

- Onsite work environment: position based in [add location] with regular in‑person engagement and potential travel between Ball locations.
- Hybrid onsite work environment: based in Colorado, requires regular on‑site engagement with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; number of onsite days varies by supervisory level.
