What You’ll Do

Relate Search is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to add a Controller to its Reynosa, Mexico facility. This individual will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, payroll, taxation, compliance, and financial controls for a 500 employee manufacturing site. The Controller will partner closely with the Plant Manager and site leadership team to support operational decision making, drive financial performance, and strengthen business processes. This role will lead a team and will require strong experience within a maquiladora environment, including taxation, customs, and cross border transactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and month end close activities for the site.
• Partner closely with plant leadership to support operational decision making, financial analysis, business planning, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory controls, variance analysis, physical inventory processes, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.
• Manage maquiladora accounting, taxation, customs related activities, compliance requirements, and cross border financial transactions between Mexico and the US.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team while driving process improvements, internal controls, audit readiness, and overall financial discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including experience within a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.
• Strong month end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory, budgeting, and forecasting experience.
• Prior maquiladora experience required, including exposure to taxation, customs, compliance, and cross border transactions.
