Job Summary

The role will be involved in support of a highly critical production environment and will be engaged in architecture, design and database deployment of Windows/Unix based systems. The Department is the Database Team. Reporting to the Team Lead. Location: Noida. Designation: Consultant / Associate Consultant / Technical Specialist / Sr Specialist.

Main Responsibilities

• Support highly critical production environment and engage in architecture, design, deployment and maintenance of large range systems along with a team of technically competent professionals.
• Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in all assignments.
• Identify and recommend changes/improvements to process and infrastructure design.
• Provide L2 & L3 level support and act as subject matter expert for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and compatible systems in cloud and virtualized environments.
• Consult with internal team and end users to determine system requirements and specifications.
• Act as a member of a quick-response team; work under demanding deadlines and resolve complex problems independently.
• Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks and document procedural run‑books for junior administrators.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide 24×7 production support, available for escalations in any shift.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long term fixes.
• Implement medium to complex components of a project module or change request.
• Provide trend analysis to management team to enable informed decisions.
• Work in a cross‑cultural team and communicate effectively.
• Mentor team members or serve as team lead as required.

Technical Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of database administration experience in large enterprise environments.
• Experience installing and configuring SQL Server 2005–2019 and applying service packs and hot fixes.
• Experience migrating SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 to 2014/2016/2017/2019 on Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 Enterprise Edition.
• Proficiency in database backup and recovery, restoration, log shipping, database mirroring and Always On.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting SQL failover clusters (Active‑Active, Active‑Passive).
• Experience managing SSIS, SSRS and SSAS packages.
• Performance tuning of slow running queries.
• Implementation of SQL logins, roles, authentication modes as part of security policies.
• SQL Server health monitoring (disk space, CPU, memory, SQL jobs, error logs).
• Production support for database and applications.
