Job Description Summary

As Mechanical Designer, you will work out mechanical design problems of low to medium complexity that involve multiple teams across GE aviation. You will execute specific design or analysis tasks or even projects related to several types of actuation mechanisms. A sound and solid mechanical design background to solve design requirements with either hand calculations or finite element analysis techniques will help you succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical-Administrative Engineering
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical-Electrical Engineering
• Bachelor of Science in Physics
• Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics
• Graduation date January 2027 or later
• English at intermediate level
• Spanish at advanced level

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical solutions through analysis, design, test, and integration that meet key stakeholders’ requirements.
• Execute design or analysis tasks under the guidance of an assigned program leader and mentors.
• Own technical and business substantiation of projects and present such substantiations on internal and external boards.
• Communicate project status, business issues, or meaningful information that interferes with project fulfillment.
• Hold technical discussions with other personnel or teams and assure the quality of own work.
• Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.
• Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and explain technical information to others when required.
