Junior Trading Analyst

Join Macquarie’s North American Gas and Power trading team as a Junior Trading Analyst. What role will you play?

In this role, you will support the gas trading desk in Mexico City by providing analytical, operational, credit, regulatory, import duties and commercial support across physical gas trading activities. You will assist traders with daily execution, position management, and market analysis while ensuring accurate trade capture, reconciliation, validation and reporting. This role offers hands on exposure to gas markets in Mexico and North America and serves as a foundational position for a career in trading or commercial analytics. You will work closely with Trading, Risk, Operations, Legal, Credit and Finance teams to support day to day trading activities, manage time sensitive processes, and help maintain the integrity of trading data and positions. As you develop, you will take on increasing responsibility in market analysis, deal economics, and process improvement.

What you offer

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 0–2 years of experience in trading, analytics, operations, risk, or related commercial roles (internships included), regulatory and legal.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with data or analytics tools such as Python, R, Power BI, or Alteryx is a plus
• Interest in energy markets, with a focus on natural gas
• Spanish fluency required; English proficiency strongly preferred
