About the Team

The Casting Commodity Purchasing team is part of the global Materials Management organization and is responsible for sourcing High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) components across the North American region. The team partners closely with Engineering, Program Purchasing, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Plants, and global commodity teams to drive sourcing excellence, supplier performance, and cost competitiveness. Working in a highly collaborative and international environment, the team develops commodity strategies, supports localization initiatives, and builds long-term partnerships with best-in-class suppliers to support ZF's business growth and operational objectives.

What you can look forward to as Senior Commodity Buyer:

Lead strategic sourcing and supplier management activities for High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) powertrain components within the North American region and global commodity organization.

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support cost competitiveness, business plan savings targets, supplier performance, and localization initiatives.

Manage complex RFQs, supplier evaluations, technical reviews, commercial negotiations, and sourcing recommendations in alignment with global commodity strategies.

Drive supplier selection and sourcing decisions for new product launches, transfers, and localization projects while ensuring alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.

Lead cross-functional supplier reviews and collaborate with Engineering, Supplier Development, Program Purchasing, Cost Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to achieve business objectives.

Negotiate and maintain commercial contracts, purchasing agreements, and annual cost reduction initiatives with strategic suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance throughout program launch and serial production, driving continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and service.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of global part family strategies, competitive sourcing initiatives, and purchasing best practices.

Your Profile as Senior Commodity Buyer:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of purchasing, strategic sourcing, or supplier management experience within the automotive industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading supplier negotiations, sourcing decisions, cost reduction initiatives, and contract management activities.

Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex sourcing projects and business challenges.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, facilitate supplier reviews, and influence stakeholders across global organizations.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; SAP experience is preferred.

Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation and stakeholder management capabilities.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work collaboratively within a global purchasing organization.
