Process engineer - industrial automation (Ciudad Victoria)

Responsibilities

Ensure process control and stability by improving existing manufacturing processes and capabilities, participating in new processes for the manufacture of new products, leading manufacturing improvement initiatives, including variability reduction, defect reduction, and process control improvement. Evaluate process cost, quality, and capability alternatives; institute continuous improvements to existing manufacturing operations through process automation or semi‑automation. Project work scope typically includes equipment selection (design, development), manufacturing installation, start‑up, and acceptance (Pilot, Pre‑Pro Runs & EEM). The role includes individual contributor and project work‑stream leadership responsibilities. Improvements interface with suppliers to deliver fully, on‑budget and fulfilling the technical scope when appropriate. Utilize basic statistical tools, engineering data, and DMAIC/DESGN/Lean methodologies to develop process understanding to support robust manufacturing processes. Support execution of roadmap and project portfolio. Apply process engineering knowledge, skills, and expertise from concept through delivery of process at production areas. Participate in Stage Gate (RA, LA, GA) defined. Work on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Support the implementation of a robust Product Quality Architecture for new and existing products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering, Physics or similar.
  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing/Process Engineer.
  • Use of root cause analysis tools and process improvement.
  • Conversational English (Advanced).
  • Six Sigma knowledge, understanding of statistical analysis (histograms, regression analysis, standard deviation, GR & R, DOE, etc.).
  • Project Management knowledge (Penbook, Agile, DMAIC).
  • Self‑starter who can meet expectations for objectives and timelines with appropriate supervision.
  • Power BI skills and basic 3D printing/design knowledge.
