Rear-Wheel Drive Engineer

What does it do?
It investigates whether the vehicle should have rear-wheel drive (RWD) instead of front-wheel drive (FWD). This involves designing or adapting the rear axles, transmissions, and related components so that the vehicle operates correctly.
Main responsibilities:
- Assess the feasibility of switching to rear-wheel drive: Is it possible with the current design, or is a complete redesign needed?
- Design the rear axles and check that the transmission angles are suitable to avoid durability issues.
- Coordinate with other teams (like chassis, suspension, and battery) to ensure that the change doesn’t affect other systems.
- Recommend whether the current design can be adapted or if a new one needs to be created.
Key deliverables:
- 3D models of the rear axles and drive components.
- Reports comparing options (e.g., "Rear-wheel drive vs. front-wheel drive: pros and cons").
- Documentation of risks and assumptions (e.g., "If we use this axle, there could be limitations").
