QA Automation Lead | AI‑Driven Quality & DevOps

MissionDeliver predictable, high-quality releases by combining modern automation, AI-driven testing, and DevOps practices—aligned to our GitHub/Azure DevOps toolchain and Azure cloud—while ensuring governance, compliance, and an excellent partner experience.Role at a glanceOwn end-to-end Quality strategy across Agile (primary) and Waterfall (as needed) initiatives.Build and scale test automation (UI, API, Mobile) integrated into CI/CD (GitHub + Azure DevOps) with robust quality gates.Introduce AI-assisted testing to improve coverage, speed, stability, and defect detection.Lead a blended QA organization: 2–3 direct reports plus a larger bench of manual testers.Partner tightly with Product, Engineering, DevOps/SRE, and Security to ship faster with higher confidence.What you’ll doStrategy and leadershipDefine and execute the QA strategy across Agile squads and Waterfall projects (traceability, stage gates, V-model when required).Build, coach, and performance-manage a high-caliber QA team (2–3 direct reports) and govern an expanded pool of manual testers.Establish quality governance (standards, templates, DoR/DoD, quality gates, SLAs/SLOs), aligned with risk, security, and compliance.Automation and DevOps.Stand up or mature a modular automation framework (UI, API, Mobile; parallelization; self-healing locators).Integrate tests into CI/CD using GitHub and Azure DevOps Pipelines; enforce gates (coverage, static checks, smoke/perf) and shift-left practices.Own test environments and data: ephemerale envs, service virtualization, contract testing, synthetic/anonymized data.Collaborate with SRE on observability-driven quality using Azure Monitor/Application Insights and error budgets.AI-assisted qualityDeploy AI tools for test case generation, risk-based test selection, flakiness detection, defect triage, and anomaly detection.Define evaluation metrics and guardrails for AI usage; measure ROI and continuously improve the toolchain.Testing excellenceEnsure coverage for functional, API, integration, performance, security basics, accessibility, and mobile.Standardize manual testing, UAT coordination, and exploratory testing; optimize vendor/partner utilization.Collaboration and deliveryPartner with Product on clear acceptance criteria (BDD/Gherkin when useful) and with Engineering on TDD/contract-first APIs.Provide transparent reporting: dashboards on coverage, escapes, cycle time, flaky tests, and readiness.Manage the financial aspects of the team, create effort and budget estimations for projects and squads execution.Key outcomes/KPIs (12 months)≥75% automated regression coverage on critical flows; ≥90% for services/APIs.≥40% reduction in defect escape rate; ≥30% reduction in regression cycle time.Release confidence: zero Sev1 escapes per quarter; MTTR for Sev2 < 24 hours.Flaky tests < 2% and pipeline pass rate > 95% on main.UAT duration reduced by ≥30% through earlier, risk-based test design.Minimum qualifications6–10 years in QA/Quality Engineering, including 2+ years leading teams and vendors/partners.Strong automation experience in one or more stacks: Java/JS/TS/Python; frameworks like Playwright/Cypress/Selenium; API (e.g., Postman/RestAssured); Mobile (e.g., Appium).Proven CI/CD integration with GitHub and Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards); solid Git workflows; artifact management.Practical use of AI in QA (LLM-assisted authoring/prioritization, self-healing, intelligent triage); ability to set metrics/guardrails.Hands-on Agile/Scrum/Kanban plus pragmatic Waterfall/V-model experience (traceability, stage gates).Experience with Azure (e.g., AKS/App Service/Functions), containers (Docker), and familiarity with IaC (Terraform/Bicep).Excellent stakeholder management and communication; data-driven decision-making.Experience in financial services/fintech/startups/valeras (voucher programs).Nice to haveCertifications: ISTQB/TMMi/SAFe; exposure to security/performance testing (OWASP, k6/JMeter).Contract testing (Pact), service virtualization, CDC pipelines.Domain familiarity with B2B payments, Mobility/fleet/fuel/tolls, and marketplaces.
