Responsibilities

Job purpose: Coordinate environmental activities and provide support with safety and hygiene with the rest of the plant areas; is a position specialized in the analysis and identification of environmental aspects and their control, provides advice and ensures the correct disposal of hazardous waste and special management, control and energy reduction strategies, control and reduction of the carbon footprint of the site with the purpose of promoting and maintaining a culture of sustainability and zero harm in the plant facilities; Likewise, it ensures that it meets government and other requirements regarding safety, hygiene and the environment.

Main responsibilities:

• Request, maintain and monitor resources and adequate management of environmental performance, as well as preparation and response to environmental emergencies.
• Establish environmental training needs for the different levels of the organization and work together with HR to coordinate environmental training and awareness activities that generate a solid environmental culture.
• Guarantee compliance with legal and other applicable requirements and manage government procedures, as well as report on applicable environmental regulatory changes, changes in environmental aspects and associated risks to generate actions that allow compliance.
• Review and update with the area managers and those involved the identification and evaluation of environmental aspects and impacts, ensuring the adequate management and implementation of operational controls through tours in the different areas that allow the identification of improvements and the establishment of programs for monitoring, reporting non-conformities and managing cause analysis.
• Implementation and monitoring of social and environmental sustainability projects and actions with the different areas of the organization.
• Establish, measure and ensure compliance with environmental KPIs.
• Develop and implement operational procedures for environmental control, as well as audit them to ensure compliance.
• It is responsible for accident prevention, raising staff awareness about carrying out their activities within safe behaviour and preparing risk analysis.
• Is responsible for attending to audits and inspections.

It is responsible for updating documents such as manuals, procedures, work instructions and formats (in accordance with applicable regulations) that are used in the area, in order to maintain the Quality Management System.

Requirements

• University degree, desirable: Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or similar
• 4 years verifiable experience in a similar job position
• Proficiency in the English language at level B2, C1 desirable
• Mastery of Official Mexican Standards
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations
• Management of emergency response units
• It will be highly valued to have a certificate as an ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor.
• Preparation of security risk analysis
• Mastery of accident investigation
• Management of continuous improvement projects
