Application Developer – Mainframe Legacy Systems
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and production support of legacy mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with COBOL , CICS , and DB2/Datacom in enterprise environments and be comfortable working on both batch and online systems.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Maintenance
- Develop, modify, and maintain mainframe applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform code enhancements, defect fixes, and system improvements.
- Support the full software development lifecycle from analysis through deployment.
Production Support
- Investigate and resolve production incidents and application issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
- Monitor application performance and ensure system stability.
Database & Data Management
- Write and execute DB2 or Datacom queries.
- Analyze and troubleshoot data-related issues.
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
Mainframe Operations
- Support batch and online transaction processing environments.
- Troubleshoot application failures and system issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business solutions.
