Technical Writer (Monterrey)

Technical Writer: Responsible for researching, writing, and editing customer-facing documentation such as user manuals, online help systems, and quick installation guides. The role provides technical documentation support for the Edge Thermal Product Line in the Thermal Management Business Unit and supports Senior Writers across multiple Business Units to close coverage gaps. The position works with product lines, other departments, and OEM customers, and manages local and remote documentation projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Understand, write, and edit product documentation for advanced technology products in clear and concise English.
• Gather technical information proactively, including researching engineering data and interviewing engineers and technical personnel to ensure clarity, completeness, accuracy, and quality.
• Assemble documentation in the correct Vertiv or OEM format, maintaining structure, content, and organization consistent with established standards and styles.
• Develop product documentation for hardware and software applications per established standards, styles, and guidelines as assigned.
• Manage multiple complex project schedules across multiple Product Lines and Business Units simultaneously.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in technical writing, professional writing, digital writing/communications, journalism, or English is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree.
• Fluent in and able to communicate, understand, and explain complex concepts in English.
• Experience with style sheets, style guides, and editing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat DC Pro, Adobe InDesign, and Madcap Flare (or equivalent single-source desktop publishing tool).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and editing skills with close attention to detail.
• Self‑motivated with a desire to be a team player and support team goals and mission.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, international team environment with multiple deadlines, multiple time zones, limited resources, and constant change.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with writing for localization and working with international teams.
• Familiarity with AI technology within the technical writing field.
• Experience with Smartsheet, CSS, XML, and XHTML.
