Financial Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

The Financial Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing and maintaining the Company’s accounting, tax, payroll, and financial reporting activities in accordance with Mexican regulations, corporate policies, and Group requirements.

Main Functions

• Record, review, and maintain accounting transactions in SAP, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and proper classification of financial information.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closings, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, supporting schedules, and required accounting adjustments.
• Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations, including bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, taxes, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany balances, identifying and resolving discrepancies or unusual movements.
• Prepare financial reports, account analyses, and presentations for the Senior Finance Director and Group Finance teams.
• Support the calculation, review, and timely submission of federal and local tax obligations, ensuring compliance with Mexican tax requirements, including CFDIs, electronic accounting, tax withholdings, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and accounting service providers, providing required information and reviewing their calculations, reports, and deliverables.
• Support cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, payment controls, intercompany transactions, audits, and requests from advisors, authorities, and Group Finance, while maintaining complete documentation and contributing to process and internal control improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or public accounting.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in general accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, or related positions.
• Experience actively participating in the complete accounting cycle of a Mexican legal entity.
• Knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards and local accounting and tax requirements. IFRS knowledge is desirable
• Experience preparing financial statements, account reconciliations, and monthly closing entries.
• Experience supporting tax calculations, CFDI requirements, electronic accounting, and statutory filings.
• Experience with SAP in accounting or finance modules is required.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Industry experience in automotive or manufacturing preferred.
• Languages: Advanced in English and Spanish.
• Availability: Open to travel up to 10%.
