Quality Eng Technical Lead

Job Description

As a Quality Engineering Technician Lead at Honeywell, you will ensure product quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction play a key role in driving quality performance through data analysis, reporting, audit support, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with the Quality Engineering team, you will monitor quality metrics, ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, coordinate corrective actions, and provide meaningful insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for quality data management, KPI reporting, audit preparation and follow-up, trend analysis, CAPA tracking, and supporting cross-functional teams in achieving quality objectives. You will ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements while supporting the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS), reporting directly to a Quality Engineer. This position requires strong technical expertise in electronics manufacturing as well as strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and maintain quality performance data to support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Generate, validate, and distribute quality reports, dashboards, scorecards, and KPI metrics for manufacturing, engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
• Monitor key quality indicators including FPY, PPM, DPMO, Scrap, Rework, COPQ, Customer Complaints, Audit Findings, and Internal Defect Rates, providing timely analysis and recommendations.
• Perform trend analysis and identify areas of risk, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities through statistical and data-driven methodologies.
• Coordinate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring timely closure, effectiveness verification, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal, customer, certification, and external audits by preparing documentation, compiling evidence, coordinating audit activities, and driving closure of audit findings.
• Maintain quality records, databases, action trackers, and documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Develop and maintain visual management tools and reporting systems to improve visibility of quality performance and action item status.
• Support root cause investigations by gathering and analyzing quality data and providing objective evidence to cross-functional teams.
• Verify compliance to quality procedures, standards, and manufacturing controls through process reviews, audits, and assessments.
• Lead and coordinate Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians, providing daily guidance, training, workload prioritization, and support in achieving department objectives.
• Facilitate follow-up meetings for quality action items, ensuring accountability and timely execution of improvement plans.
• Promote a culture of quality, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Quality Leadership.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• Technical Degree, Associate Degree, or equivalent certification in Quality, Electronics, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality roles within electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electronic assembly manufacturing processes, including SMT, PTH, conformal coating, depanelization, mechanical assembly, ICT/FCT testing, X-Ray, and packaging operations
• Experience generating quality reports, analyzing manufacturing data, and tracking improvement actions.
• Experience supporting internal, external, customer, or certification audits.
• Strong knowledge of quality KPI management, performance reporting, as well as drawings interpretation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills include Pivot Tables, formulas, and chart creation.
• Knowledge of measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, etc.
• Experience calculating and reporting quality metrics such as FPY, PPM, DPMO, Scrap, Rework, and audit performance indicators.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and ANSI/ESD S20.20.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Leadership and team coordination abilities.
• Intermediate English proficiency (written and verbal).

• Experience conducting process audits, layered audits, or quality system audits.
• Knowledge of SPC, MSA, Capability Analysis (Cp/Cpk), Pareto Analysis, Trend Analysis, and Control Charts
• Experience managing quality databases and automated reporting systems.
• Experience in a high-mix, low-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Power BI, Minitab, or other reporting and statistical analysis tools.
• Experience in employee training, coaching, and development.
