Data Governance Lead

What we look for:

We are seeking a Lead Data Governance Consultant with deep Collibra expertise to design, implement, and operationalize a foundational enterprise data governance program . This role is both hands-on and strategic , serving as the primary platform lead while shaping governance operating models, stewardship structures, and adoption across the organization.

The consultant will work closely with business data owners, technology teams, and analytics platforms to embed governance into the modern data ecosystem. This role has high visibility and impact, establishing governance capabilities that support analytics, regulatory needs, and future AI initiative

Responsibilities:

Collibra Platform Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of Collibra , including platform setup, configuration, and rollout.
• Configure and operationalize core Collibra capabilities such as Business Glossary, Data Catalog, Lineage, Policies, and Workflows .
• Act as the primary Collibra SME , providing guidance on best practices, roadmap planning, and platform optimization.

Data Governance Design & Execution

• Establish foundational governance structures , including data domains, ownership models, stewardship roles, and critical data elements (CDEs).
• Define and implement data governance operating models aligned to core business processes.
• Partner with stakeholders to operationalize data quality, classification, and access policies .

Metadata, Lineage & Integration

• Design and implement metadata and lineage integrations with modern data platforms.
• Enable automated ingestion and alignment of metadata across Snowflake and DBT .
• Ensure governance is embedded within the broader analytics and data platform ecosystem.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Enablement

• Bridge business and technology teams by translating governance concepts into executable platform configurations.
• Support enablement and adoption through documentation, guidance, and ongoing stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and platform teams to ensure governance scales with the data landscape.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related data leadership roles.
• Deep hands-on experience with Collibra , including setup, configuration, and enterprise-scale adoption.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks , domain-based governance, stewardship models, and business-led ownership.
• Experience integrating Collibra with modern data stacks , particularly Snowflake and DBT .
• Proven ability to work across business and technical teams , translating governance requirements into platform solutions.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• English proficiency level C1 or higher is a requirement.
