Qa Engineer Ii (Mexicali)

Overview

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing investigation and root cause analysis of product failures. Works closely with various Engineering functions (Reliability, Design, Manufacturing, etc.) in a closed‑loop corrective‑action process to improve product quality and reliability performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross‑functional strategies to meet customer requirements in all quality areas that serve AE's business needs.
• Perform failure analysis, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions for customer (internal‑external) complaints.
• Define, design, develop, and implement SPC tools for assembly, manufacturing, and test fixtures.
• Establish, implement, and maintain the quality management system.
• Interact with Engineering and Operations to ensure appropriate transfer of new products, including PPAP.
• Plan, organize, and manage activities of receiving/outgoing quality functions.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with reliability standards and customer requirements.
• Review Engineering Change Requests for customer approval requirements and submission.
• Perform weekly and monthly trend analysis and coordinate corrective actions with involved areas.
• Define SPC for manufacturing processes, monitor weekly and monthly performance, and implement countermeasures.
• Maintain robust processes using PPAP, SPC, and LEAN tools in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Materials, and Support Areas.

Experience and Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing (Electronics Industry preferred; Automotive Industry experience is a plus).
• 2+ years of experience in quality system maintenance.
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Proficiency in LEAN manufacturing tools.
• Excellent computer skills (statistical software, Office – Excel, etc.).
