Material Technology Engineer

WTS Energy is recruiting a Material Technology Engineer to play a key role during the development phase of a offshore project in Mexico, supporting critical engineering and material integrity activities.

This role will provide technical leadership in materials engineering, material selection, welding, corrosion management, and structural integrity , ensuring compliance with international standards throughout the engineering, fabrication, and operational phases of the project.

Requirements

• Provide technical expertise in material technology, material selection, and welding engineering.
• Develop and maintain performance standards for structural integrity and critical systems.
• Review and update the Basis of Design and material specifications.
• Support contractor technical reviews and design verification activities.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, risk assessments, and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
• Support engineering documentation, procedures, and operational philosophies.
• Contribute to tender evaluations and technical clarification processes.
• Support schedule planning, cost estimation, and long lead item (LLI) management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, standards, and HSE requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in materials engineering within the Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
• Strong experience in material selection, corrosion assessment, welding engineering, and structural integrity .
• Knowledge of offshore facilities, subsea pipeline projects, and international engineering standards.
• Experience working with EPC contractors, operators, or major offshore developments.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel to contractor facilities and offshore locations when required.
