Senior Chemist - Painting process

We are a global leader in automotive coating technologies, committed to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Chemist to join our Technical Team and support the development, optimization, and commercialization of advanced pretreatment and electrocoat (E-coat) systems for automotive applications.

The Senior Chemist will play a key role in supporting customer requirements, product development activities, and manufacturing processes while ensuring best-in-class performance of pretreatment and E-coat technologies. This position requires strong laboratory expertise, analytical problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, formulate, and validate Painting, pretreatment and E-coat products at laboratory scale.
• Prepare prototype samples and test panels using lab-scale coating and painting processes.
• Perform analytical testing and interpret results to provide technical support for customer production lines.
• Troubleshoot coating performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Support product launches, line trials, and manufacturing scale-up activities.
• Collaborate with commercial, manufacturing, and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of new products.
• Interface with customers to understand process requirements and provide technical guidance.
• Work closely with raw material suppliers to evaluate new technologies and industry trends.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior chemists and provide technical training when needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field .
• Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive coatings, preferably in Pretreatment and E-coat technologies .
• Hands‑on laboratory experience with coating application processes and analytical characterization techniques.
• Knowledge of electrocoat bath control, phosphate systems, corrosion protection, and coating performance evaluations.
• Experience using analytical instruments such as FT-IR, GC-MS, SEM-EDX, XRF, particle size analyzers, titration systems, and microscopy .
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• VISA and Passport

Preferred

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting automotive OEM customers.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
