QUALITY ENGINEER

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a QUALITY ENGINEER.

Eaton announced on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function - Job Summary:

Manages, monitors, and improves the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with IATF16949, Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs), EQS and Government regulations. Key duties include maintaining documentation, conducting audits, analyzing performance data, and implementing corrective actions together with the multidisciplinary team.

Essential Functions - Job Responsibilities:

QUALITY MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT:

• Define clear, simple procedures for all operations and ensure they are well documented and followed to ensure consistency and compliance with IATF16949, CSRs and EQS requirements.
• Foster a culture of quality by training staff on best practices, empowering them to solve problems, and involving them in the improvement process.
• Ensure executive-level involvement to align the QMS with organizational goals and provide necessary resources.
• Use the PDCA Cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act) to regularly review system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness of the system.
• Collect data and ensure timely reporting of key quality metrics.

DOCUMENTS CREATION & CONTROL:

• Establish and maintain systems to store, track, and retrieve records.
• Ensure documents are up-to-date, accurate, properly reviewed, and that superseded versions are removed from circulation.
• Manage the flow of documents between teams, clients, and departments.
• Ensure all documents meet industry-specific regulations and company standards.

AUDIT PLANNING, EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL AUDITS:

• Establish objectives, timeline, and areas or processes to be reviewed, such as specific regulations, internal policies, manufacturing processes, and administrative processes.
• Create a formal report detailing audit findings, including areas of non‑compliance, control deficiencies, and recommendations for improvement.
• Implement action plans to correct non‑conformities and provide training on problem solving to address gaps.

RISK ASSESSMENT:

• Evaluate the organization’s controls, identify potential gaps in compliance with IATF16949, CSRs, EQS requirements or regulatory, and assess the risk of non-compliance.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to improve processes.
• Coach and assist in the development of documentation Control Plans, PFMEA, PPAP, MSA, APQP, SPC.
• Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Council and Continuous Improvement teams when required. Generate ideas for improvement according to the local programs and implement and optimize Lean Management tools.
• Maintain corporate processes and procedures, be familiar with the corporate SharePoint and perform a minimum review once a year to prevent misalignment with internal processes.
• Participate in and lead multidisciplinary problem-solving teams and teach problem‑solving tools such as 8‑Ds, A3, FTA, Ishikawa, Pareto, etc.
• Demonstrate the application of the 8 CIF modules and support related initiatives on a daily basis through establishing, maintaining and complying with standard work and other tools.

Qualifications:

Specialized Knowledge - Qualifications:

• Education level required : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (quality, statistics, preferred)
• Years of Experience Required : 5 years experience
• Technical Knowledge : Proficiency in IATF16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA and 8D root cause analysis.
• Diplomas/Certifications : IATF16949 Internal Auditor, Automotive Core Tools (desirable)
• English Level : Ability to read and understand documents in English. Desired 50% spoken English.
• Systems : Computer literacy, including spreadsheets, statistical programs, database maintenance and CAD.
• Functional Competencies : Proficiency in problem solving and quality techniques including:

  • PFMEA
  • PPAP
  • 8‑D problem solving
  • APQP
  • MSA
  • Capability Analysis

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
