THE OPPORTUNITY

IL MAKIAGE is seeking a full-time Gen-AI Creative Specialist (Remote Contractor) to support our Growth Marketing team. This is a net new role and an open canvas: you'll lead how generative AI shows up across our performance creative, from asset development to workflow design to leveling up our entire editing team. Our ad style is constantly evolving, and we believe Gen-AI is one of the biggest levers available to us right now. We're looking for the person who can prove it.

WHO YOU ARE

You're an experienced video editor with strong Gen-AI skills. You've used generative AI tools on live projects, you know their strengths and limitations, and you're able to teach others what you've learned. You're highly self-motivated and move quickly from idea to execution. You learn fast, work well without established processes, and are energized by building something from the ground up rather than inheriting it.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design, edit and animate short-form video ads optimized for high-scale paid social campaigns (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube), working from creative briefs and storyboards to produce work that captures attention fast and drives measurable results.
• Collaborate closely with marketing managers to understand campaign objectives, consumer motivations, and performance-driven creative insights.
• Develop production-ready assets using generative video, image, and audio tools, establishing Gen-AI as a genuine asset source alongside our in-house production and creator content.
• Solve for the hard parts of Gen-AI in beauty specifically: skin texture, shade accuracy, product consistency, and human faces that hold up under scrutiny.
• Continuously test and evaluate emerging tools, models, and platforms, running structured evaluations rather than demos and making clear recommendations on what we adopt, skip, or revisit.
• Level up the broader editing team's Gen-AI skills through documentation, training sessions, and hands-on support, so the capability lives across the team and not just with you.
• Establish quality standards and guardrails so AI-assisted work meets the same bar as everything else we ship.
• Propose fresh ideas for video formats, concepts, and visual styles, including concepts that are only possible because of these tools.
• Process and organize raw footage, keeping files prepared and optimized for a smooth production workflow.
• Stay current on paid social trends, performance marketing, and the fast-moving Gen-AI landscape.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of video editing and motion graphics experience, focused on paid social advertising.
• Demonstrated, current experience with Gen-AI video and image tools, plus a portfolio showing work you've actually shipped (required).
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (required). Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Media Encoder.
• Proficient in color correction (Lumetri Color or equivalent) — able to balance and match footage for a consistent, polished output.
• Solid design fundamentals required: typography, layout, and composition. Strong color theory is a must — it directly informs both generative prompting decisions and output quality.
• Comfortable with prompting, iteration, and the unglamorous work of getting a usable output from an unreliable tool.
• Rigorous about quality, with the judgment to know when AI output isn't good enough and the willingness to say so.
• A good teacher. Half the value of this role is what you transfer to others.
• Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity. This role has no playbook and you'll be writing it.
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and driven to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Passionate about the beauty industry and creating captivating content.
