Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Contingent Labor

Abut the role:

Leads the development and execution of enterprise-wide category management and sourcing strategies using the FedEx sourcing methodology, focused on the Contingent Labor category (contractors, consultants, temporary staff, freelancers, staffing agencies, and external talent providers). Proven experience managing sourcing strategies within a Global Vendor Management System (VMS), leading supplier negotiations, conducting market analysis, driving total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements, and partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Operations, and Talent Acquisition stakeholders

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for strategic functions including evaluation of category/spend information, benchmarking, and recommendations for sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard criteria.
• Continually matures category expertise, category management expertise, and market contacts, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders in all aspects of sourcing.
• Leads internal projects/programs.
• Develops the strategy and leads supplier negotiations
• Acts with authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Develops negotiation strategies and leads negotiations to successful outcomes of significant corporate impact.
• Effectively interacts with business team up to and including officer level to lead complex projects. Acts with senior-level authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.
• Minimum four (4) years’ work experience in sourcing TCO (Total Cost Ownership), financial analysis, or related field, a related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
• Excellent knowledge and execution of project management, Sourcing technology tools including emerging technology, and complex data analytics
• Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt to various levels.Strong written and oral communication skills, strong emotional intelligence.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Focused on Contingent Labor, experience with workforce management systems, vendor management systems (VMS), and other relevant technology platforms
• In-depth knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements, and industry standard processes
• Experience delivering value within the Contingent Labor category (workers who are not direct permanent employees of the company, for example: Contractors, Consultants, Temporary staff, Freelancers, Staffing agencies, External talent providers)
• Through knowledge of the supplier market and understanding of the contingent labor value chain:
• Demonstrated ability in analyzing data and formulate recommendations in support of strategic sourcing and category strategy
• Proven competence in project management, proficiency in the use of business computer software programs, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Power BI.
