We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Regional Buyer to lead the procurement and management of assigned commodities across the Americas region. This role is responsible for developing and executing commodity strategies, driving supplier performance, optimizing sourcing decisions, and delivering measurable value through cost reduction, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial and analytical capabilities with proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced manufacturing or automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Commodity Management

• Develop and execute regional commodity strategies aligned with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Conduct market intelligence and supplier capability assessments to identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate sourcing strategies into broader business and operational plans.
• Support sustainability initiatives and ensure sourcing decisions align with corporate environmental and social responsibility commitments, including customer requirements related to Conflict Minerals Reporting (CMR), Modern Slavery and Supply Chain Sustainability.

Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Lead supplier selection, sourcing activities, and commercial negotiations to achieve competitive cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers across the region.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, commercial terms, and service agreements in alignment with business objectives.
• Proactively address supplier performance issues to ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction.

Procurement Operations & Compliance

• Ensure timely issuance and management of supplier quotations in accordance with procurement processes and project timelines.
• Monitor RFQ activities and supplier engagement to support effective sourcing decisions.
• Implement best practices to improve procurement efficiency, supplier performance, and cost competitiveness.
• Utilize SAP Ariba and procurement systems to manage sourcing, contracting, and supplier-related activities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Generate and maintain reports on commodity performance, procurement metrics, spend analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Analyze purchasing data to identify market trends, opportunities, and areas for continuous improvement.
• Provide recommendations and insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop forecasts and provide supporting analysis for commodity spend and purchase price variance.
• Present key findings and business recommendations to senior leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and business priorities.
• Participate in regional and global initiatives focused on procurement excellence and continuous improvement.
• Support organizational objectives by driving collaboration across multiple functions and business units.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.

Experience

• Proven experience in Commodity Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain Management.
• Automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong understanding of procurement, sourcing strategy, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
• Experience working with SAP, SAP Ariba, or similar ERP and procurement platforms is preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and complex business data.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic global environment.
