Position Overview
We are hiring Applications Technician. Candidates must be based Queretaro, Mexico. Reporting to R&D Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies, initiates, designs, directs and conducts research in the area of formulation and analytical chemistry, leading to the development and implementation of new products and analytical methods for the company.
Mants competency in up-to-date analytical chemistry, formulation techniques and chemical theory, and researches the feasibility of using this technology in the development and analysis of our products.
Fulfills the role as a technical consultant/troubleshooter when more generally defined formulation and analytical chemistry problems at R&D, plant or QC labs are beyond the scope of the plant/corporate personnel.
Initiates, coordinates and oversees systems to improve testing and development efficiencies within the integral technical team.
Validates test methods using applicable food matrices to prove the analytical method is acceptable for its intended purpose. This may include specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, range, detection and quantification limits.
Establishes robust methods. The robustness of an analytical procedure is a measure of its capacity to remain unaffected by small, but deliberate variation in method parameters and provides an indication of its reliability during normal usage.
Mandatory Requirements & Skills
- Candidates with at least 3 years of experience.
- Basic knowledge of SAP.
- Strong knowledge of color applications across different product categories (beverages, confectionery, dairy, bakery, savory, etc.).
- Solid understanding of food ingredients, additives, and processing technologies.
- Familiarity with food regulations and standards (FDA, Codex, and local/international regulations).
- Ability to perform color matching, shade adjustment, and product optimization according to customer requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, R&D, and Quality teams to support customer projects.
- Good documentation skills (reports, formulations, technical data sheets).
- Basic knowledge of quality systems and food safety standards.
- Effective communication skills with a strong customer-oriented mindset.
