Sr Analyst, FP&A

Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will own governance for forecasting and reporting/analytics for labor planning within Warner Bros. Discovery’s compensation and benefits domain. The role executes annual and quarterly labor planning, supports month-end close activities, develops ad-hoc reports, and provides high-quality financial insights to business partners across Studios. The analyst will improve planning processes, reduce reconciliation time, and assist with system enhancement testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deep knowledge of personnel cost within the team.
• Perform detailed reviews of headcount and staff costs with HR partners and business units.
• Execute planning and forecasting of personnel cost of P&A and provide commentaries on variances versus prior forecasts, budgets, and prior year.
• Support month-end close from an FP&A perspective with variance analysis focused on personnel cost.
• Monitor actuals utilization vs budget/PY and provide commentary on key variances.
• Perform ad-hoc in-depth analysis per request not covered in monthly or quarterly reports.
• Implement and maintain standard FP&A processes within personnel cost to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
• Work proactively with business partners on personnel cost areas (system implementations, standard process design, development of required reporting).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or auditing (a plus).
• FP&A and/or entertainment industry experience strongly preferred.
• Business analyst or financial analyst experience a plus.
• Public or private audit and/or consulting experience a plus.
• Experience with system implementations and testing a plus.
• Experience in a large corporate environment a plus.
• Evidence of progressive responsibilities and contextualized understanding.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred).
• Strong mathematical and financial skills; excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Detail oriented; able to adapt and learn new technology; solution-oriented; can work in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-volume environment and think outside the box.
• Ability to understand and communicate with HR, financial, and executive personnel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, efficiently, and flexibly to changing priorities.
• Team player with high-level interpersonal skills and customer focus.
• Quick learner who is results-oriented and able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Expert competency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; SAP experience preferred; adaptive experience preferred.
