IT SAP Functional Expert (Financial & Controlling)

As an SAP Functional Expert, joining the Rovensa Internal IT Team, Support Rovensa’s global SAP S/4HANA ecosystem by leading full-cycle implementations, enhancements, and process optimization in the Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), and Treasury (TR) modules, including Mexico and LATAM localizations. Ensure that business requirements are understood, translated into scalable SAP solutions, and implemented according to Rovensa Corporate Business Best Practices.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Leadership & Solution Design

• Lead and execute full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations across FI, TR, CO modules, from blueprinting to Go-Live and hyper care.
• Perform in-depth analysis of Business Requirements from Finance, Accounting, Controlling, and Costing teams, translating them into optimized SAP processes and configurations.
• Design and validate end-to-end integrated processes, ensuring smooth alignment with Sales (SD), Procurement (MM), Production (PP), Warehouse Management (EWM) and other modules.
• Assess existing processes and drive process re-design to strengthen standardization, following the Rovensa SAP Model and corporate standards

Localization Expertise (Mexico/Latam)

• Configure and support statutory, fiscal, and legal compliance for Mexican, and Latam countries, on SAP processes, including:
• Electronic invoicing;
• Tax handling (IVA, retenciones, DIOT, CFDI, etc.);
• Financial reporting by local regulations.
• Ensure integration of LATAM localization requirements into Rovensa global template without compromising global standards.

SAP Configuration & Continuous Improvement

• Configure SAP FI, CO, TR (AA as plus) functionalities including:
• General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivables (AR)
• Product Costing (CO-PC) and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
• Bank Accounting & Treasury (Cash Management, Liquidity Planning);
• Guarantee alignment of configuration updates with ROVENSA’s corporate SAP Template and Solutions Architecture, supporting governance and documentation.
• Evaluate the usage of standard SAP functionalities vs. custom development, ensuring SAP best practices and avoiding unnecessary complexity.
• Always looking for better technologies and solutions that match Business needs.

Integration & Testing

• Coordinate financial and costing processes integration with cross-functional areas (SD, MM, PP, EWM/WM), ensuring end-to-end consistency.
• Define, execute, and validate test plans (unit, integration, UAT) following SAP IT corporate methodology.
• Support Master Data Team for data migration activities for FI, CO, TR and AA objects.

Support & Rollout Activities

• Provide second-line functional support for global users.
• Participate in global rollout projects of the Rovensa SAP Global Business Process Template.
• Collaborate with external partners or consultants, ensuring compliance with Rovensa standards and methodologies.

Documentation & Governance

• Produce high-quality documentation: Functional Specs, Config Docs, Process Flows, and country specific legal requirements.

Maintain traceability and compliance with internal audit recommendations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance, Controlling, (Treasury and Assets Accounting as a plus).
• Proven experience in full-cycle SAP implementations.
• Deep knowledge of Mexico and Latam SAP Localization (legal compliance, taxes, e-invoicing).
• Strong understanding of ECC-to-S/4 differences (Universal Journal, ML, ACDOCA).
• Solid SAP financial process knowledge across Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Production/Costing, and logistics flows.
• Experience with:
• SAP Fiori Apps (Finance)
• SAP Integration Frameworks (IDoc, PI/PO, APIs)
• Product Costing, Transfer Pricing
• Financial Closing Cockpit
• Knowledge of SAP Best Practices, FIT-to-Standard, and corporate template governance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Information Systems.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on SAP FI/CO experience, including S/4HANA projects.
• Demonstrated experience with LATAM localization, preferably in global companies.
• Fluent in English.
• Availability for global interaction and travel.
