Senior API Engineer – Senior Consultant – Americas Delivery Mexico (ADMX)

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, you will work with diverse global clients across a wide range of industries. You will have a variety of client facing responsibilities such as diagnosing issues using advanced analytical techniques, interviewing staff, formulating and making recommendations, and helping clients implement proposed solutions.

We are seeking a skilled API Engineer to drive and scale client practices within integration and microservice management. What you’ll do:

• Design and operate banking-grade API platforms using Google Apigee X / Hybrid
• Build Spring Boot microservices exposing and consuming RESTful and event-driven APIs
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, mTLS, and JWT for API security
• Enforce rate limiting, quota management, and API monetization policies
• Integrate with core banking systems (T24, Finacle, FIS, etc.) via APIs
• Set up CI/CD pipelines for Apigee deployments using Maven and GitHub Actions
• Monitor API health via Apigee Analytics and Cloud Logging

Qualifications

Required

• 6-10+ years of consulting and/or industry experience.
• Completion of course of study/ Egresado in Computer Science/IT/Computer Engineering, or any pertinent field or industry, or equivalent years of experience.
• Responsible for supporting and leading project workstreams and/or teams.
• Identifies key drivers, defines problems, and proposes solutions.
• Advanced English level.
• Highly experienced on Google Apigee (Edge / X / Hybrid) in production environments.
• Strong Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x (Security, Data JPA, WebFlux).
• Hands-on with GCP: Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm chart deployments.
• Banking domain exposure: payments, accounts, lending, or open banking.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI 3.0 and API-first design methodology.

Preferred

• Apigee Certified API Engineer or Google Cloud Professional Architect.
• ISO 20022 / SWIFT messaging knowledge.
• Terraform / IaC for GCP.
