Product Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Product Engineer to support our teams in Guadalajara, South Campus. This role reports to the Product Engineer Manager and is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations on a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they meet volume, quality, and cost goals.

Responsibilities

• Handle product transfer and new product set‑up.
• Support production by assessing product engineering issues of diverse scope that arise on the line.
• Suggest process improvements to increase quality and production yield.
• Resolve product‑related problems and perform failure evaluations related to product issues.
• Interact with customers and various departments on product related issues.
• Work with the design team to resolve design‑related issues.
• Suggest modifications to work instructions, materials, or product changes to ensure excellent quality.
• Evaluate and define customer Bill of Materials (BOM) structure for production.
• Review functional product documentation and identify safety requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Interpret engineering drawings and parts/assemblies.
• Request customers for drawing corrections, additions, clarifications, and measurement methods.
• Manage engineering change implementation.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and tolerance evaluation.
• Lead Design of Experiment (DOE) and form‑fit‑function analysis to define failure root causes and report to customer.
• Provide support to supply‑chain for integrating parts derived from vertical integration or localization efforts.
• Provide product training to manufacturing/process engineers.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a similar position in an electronic manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Excel.
• Conversational English.
• Expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Experience with product lifecycle systems (Agile, Arena, Procom) and MRP systems (SAP, Baan).
• Experience using floor‑shop systems.
• Experience in personnel management with ECO implementation.
