Launch Product Development Engineer

As a Product Development Launch Engineer, you will support new product launches and manufacturing readiness for Molex’s high-speed connector and cable systems serving big data and hyperscale customers. You will partner cross-functionally to ensure designs are manufacturable, production lines are ready, and launches progress smoothly through the NPI process—while helping resolve technical issues that impact performance, quality, and timing.

Our Team

You will join the DSS-CSBU organization supporting IO External Cables, working closely with a cross‑functional network including DPE, AQP, NPD Sourcing, Indirect Sourcing, TPM, PJM, Product Management, and MPE. This is a highly visible role focused on bringing industry‑leading interconnect solutions to market.

What You Will Do

• Partner with manufacturing to evaluate new design concepts, providing early feasibility feedback aligned to plant capability and launch readiness.
• Lead and support technical analyses (e.g., POC, RCA, FEA, tolerance analysis) to enable robust designs and stable production performance.
• Drive resolution of specification gaps by developing alternative solutions that protect customer requirements and manufacturability.
• Facilitate builds and execution for key validation phases such as FOT, FSV, and DVP, ensuring learning is captured and acted upon.
• Ensure design intent is translated into execution by aligning deliverables to Final Design Review (FDR) and verifying documentation consistency.
• Enable production readiness by confirming work instructions, tooling, and processes align with released drawings and FDR documentation.
• Track production line setup progress and drive closure through Phase 7 of the NPI process to support on‑time launch.
• Provide engineering support for quality issues, yield improvements, cost reductions, and product modifications/series expansions in production and launch.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong proven experience of mechanical product design and development experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing troubleshooting and structured problem solving.
• Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Advanced conversational English level.
• Proficiency with GD&T and parametric 3D CAD, including strong capability in tolerance analysis.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience using Siemens NX.
• Design experience with high‑speed, high‑density connectors, cable assemblies, or interconnect products.
• Experience designing products manufactured using manual, semi‑automated, and/or fully automated assembly.
• Practical knowledge of Six Sigma / quality tools (e.g., DOE, FMEA).
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as progressive die stamping, injection molding, die casting, and insert molding.
