The BOE Technical Specialist is a senior hands‑on technology lead responsible for end‑to‑end SAP BusinessObjects content ownership, semantic modeling, and platform administration. The role ensures the successful delivery of enterprise BI and operational reporting by integrating SAP BOE with modern cloud data platforms and AI‑driven analytics. The position requires 12+ years of experience in large‑scale, regulated BI environments, with strong accountability for estimating business requests, designing delivery blueprints, and executing high‑quality reporting solutions, primarily within the Insurance domain.

Job Description

• Senior BOE hands‑on technology specialist responsible for end‑to‑end SAP BusinessObjects content handling, semantic modeling, and platform administration
• Extensive hands‑on experience in both SAP Business Objects Administration and development projects. Microsoft Power BI and Azure cloud knowledge is an added advantage.
• Extensive Technical knowledge on Installation, Configuration and deployment of SAP BO 4.3 in Azure Cloud environment.
• Having hand on experience on deploying SAP BO Application in clustered environment (both windows & Linux platform)
• Setup and Implementation of Tomcat webapps, Apache services to distribute the load from front end application.
• Upgraded the SAP BO environment from lower to higher environment and configured the web app files in tomcat servers.
• Configured AD authentication (Windows AD, SAML, LDAP) and SSO setup in SAP BO Application
• Content migration of Universe, reports, connections, user group, folder level access, events, folder level security, report schedules, Instances using Promotion management wizard and CMC
• Ensures delivery of enterprise BI and operational reporting by integrating SAP BOE with modern cloud data platforms and AI‑driven analytics
• Owns the entire BOE content lifecycle, including universes, reports, publications, and metadata from intake through production support
• Engages business stakeholders to understand requirements and estimate scope, effort, timelines, and delivery impact
• Translates business requirements into technical blueprints and enterprise semantic models
• Performs impact analysis for enhancements, data model changes, upgrades, and migrations
• Designs, builds, and maintains UNV and UNX universes using UDT and IDT
• Resolves contexts, loops, aliases, and cardinality to ensure accurate SQL generation and eliminate data traps
• Builds scalable and reusable Business Layers supporting multi‑business‑unit reporting
• Implements and maintains auditing for usage monitoring, security, and compliance
• Applies advanced SQL tuning for complex analytical workloads
• Integrates SAP BOE with YellowBrick, Snowflake, Databricks, DB2, SQL Server, and Azure SQL Server
• Tunes BOE queries for Snowflake & Databricks workloads for performance and efficiency
• Validates database and platform upgrades and assesses downstream BI impact
• Deploys and manages custom Tomcat environments supporting BOE and SAML authentication
• Administers Linux and Windows clustered environments
• Manages Azure virtual machines, gateways, cost‑optimized sizing, and compliance controls
• Integrates SAML‑based SSO and Okta authentication with SAP BusinessObjects
• Demonstrates proven ability to estimate, deliver, and operate enterprise BI solutions at scale
• Microsoft Power BI and Azure cloud knowledge are an added advantage.
